Pop’s Puppies have suggested the following rule change.

The current rule:

 1 point for every catch.

The proposed rule change

1 point for every two catches.

The rationale is that “WRs are expanded well beyond the value of running backs” and to account for hat anomoly, we must adjust the PPR rule.

the explanation of this change is that there are many more points available to receivers [in general] vs running backs who are not primary options for catches. this proposal will scale back but not eliminate the inequity in wide receiver scoring.vs “normal” running backs

Works for me.

Doesn’t work for me. Sounds like buyers remorse; paid $400k last year for a house that’s worth $200k today.

I was adamantly opposed to the PPR rule last year and I was vocal about it but it passed by an overwhelming vote of 9-3. When 75% is in favor or duped into voting for a rule, you live with it. I have lived with it and have not called for an all out repeal of PPR.

This change to PPR still does nothing to balance the inequity between a RB and a WR. And you admit this by your own statement above. So why create or foster a rule that still creates inequity?

In the philosophy of “more scoring is good,” this proposal also reduces scoring. Where is the benefit in that philosophy?

In the RB proposal (2 points per every 5 carries) we get a real solution to balancing the inequity between WR and RB. The RB proposal also creates more scoring which was one of the motivating factors behind PPR in the first place. So in the RB proposal, we have addressed the issues cleanly without any “buyer’s remorse.”

As I see it, in my sole and honest opinion, is that either (a) we adopt the RB rule as proposed yesterday (which does balance the inequity between RB and WR), (b) decide to leave PPR alone or (c) eliminate PPR altogether. In my opinion, this proposal of “1 point per every 2 catches” is just a feel good proposal that pretends to do some good but minimally addresses the real issue created by the inception of the PPR rule.

buyers remorse?????????????????????/

its you who are looking for balance yet you want to give a running back credit for carries

see my post on the other issue regarding a qb kneel down and qb sneak.

how many times does a qb dive for six inches in a game and kneel at the end.

you want to reward that player for 5 cumulative kneel downs and sneaks???????

i only proposed the rule change to address your imbalance issue. if you’d like i can withdraw the rule change and let the league vote on carries and then we’ll be back to 2008 rules and points scoring.

i agree that ppr favors wr’s/ thats what it was intended to do/ to make the scoring more balanced. so now we see that wr’s are potentially more valuable.

ok draft better
