Rule Proposal: Team Kicker January 4, 2012

The following proposal is being made by the Falls Church Players:

I propose a rule change to have a team kicker. Perhaps it’s me, but it seems like every year my kicker gets run into or pulls a hammie early in a game and you lose the kicker’s points for the rest of the game.  Similar to the QB, this is pretty much an exclusive position, which I feel should be scored by whomever is performing the role.

At the current time, it doesn’t look like ESPN LM allows for this function but that has never stopped us before.

team kicker can be easily manipulated by replacing one for the other on sunday right before the 1pm games.

an owner should be able to communicate that info to the league

Paul,

This comment will help your cause. Guaranteed!

You can have more than one kicker on your team. There is no need to play team kickers.

What’s next? Team RB? Team WR? I lost Kevin Smith on the 1st play of the 2nd quarter. Greg Jennings on the 4th play of the game and Matt Forte on like the 2nd drive of the 1st quarter. Lost all three games by a small amount of points but had I had a Team RB or Team WR, I probably would have won.

Injuries are a part of the game.

Snarky? Yes. Sarcastic? Yes. But true? 100% YES!

I would also like to add that the adoption of this rule will cause more work for the commissioner of the league… but in all fairness, I must add, on a much smaller scale than was proposed during the roster discussion.
